Aroma-puncture refers to the medicinal use of essential oils on active acupuncture points. Essential oils are concentrated extracts taken from the leaves, roots, seeds or blossoms of the plant.
Aroma-puncture uses pure, therapeutic grade, essential oils and various aromatic plant compounds to improve a person’s health or mood. This usually involves a topical application such as during your acupuncture session but there are other ways of administering the oils.
Medical News Today notes that “In France, and much of Western Europe aromatherapy is incorporated into mainstream medicine as an antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial, much more so than in the UK, USA or Canada. In fact, there are some essential oils that are regulated as prescription drugs in France, and can only be administered (or prescribed) by a doctor.”
Depending on your situation your personalized blend may be applied in one of these three ways…
• Aerial Diffusion- the oil is placed in an atomizer that sends the essential oil molecules into the air
• Direct Inhalation- the oil is breathed in, either directly or with steam
• Topical Application- the oil is applied to the skin through massage, baths or other therapeutic skin care

An Aromatherapy consultation and acupuncture session may take up to 90 minutes.
During an aromatherapy consultation, I will be asking you a multitude of questions to help me find the appropriate essential oils for your body's needs.
Once the prescription is determined, you will receive a combination of acupressure and acupuncture as your body requires. I will monitor your treatment by using the Traditional Chinese Medicine method of pulse taking. This type of application allows the oils to begin working right away and continue to work throughout the rest of your day.
Aroma-puncture Therapy provides benefit from both the essential oils as well as the acupuncture or acupressure.
Essential oils contain the chemical essence of the plants they were extracted from and can transfer those therapeutic effects to your body.
Many Chinese Herbs such as Rou Gui (Cinnamomi cortex), Ding Xiang (Caryophylli flos), and Gan Jiang (Zingiberis rhizoma) are available in essential oil form.
